What it is
A sauce pump dispenses a measured amount of cheese sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise or gravy with a single press. It replaces squeeze bottles and ladles at food counters.
How it works
A plunger pump draws sauce up from a food-grade container below and pushes it out of the spout each time the head is pressed. Each press releases a similar amount, which keeps portions consistent and reduces waste. Models with a warmer base keep thick sauces, like cheese sauce, fluid.
How to use it in the kitchen
- 1
Fill the container with sauce and seat the pump head.
- 2
Prime the pump with a few presses until sauce comes out of the spout.
- 3
Press the head once for each portion.
- 4
Cover or refrigerate the container between shifts according to the sauce.
Best for
- Fast food and burger counters
- Cinemas, canteens and snack bars
- Nacho and cheese sauce stations
Before you buy
- Match container size to daily volume: 2.5L to 4L for a single sauce, 8L or 12L for multi-head models.
- Ask whether the model has a warmer if you will serve thick or hot sauces.
- Check the footprint on your counter.
Care and cleaning
- Disassemble the pump head and wash it daily.
- Flush the spout so sauce does not dry and block it.
- Sanitise containers before refilling.

Questions
Can the pump handle chunky sauces?
Pumps work best with smooth sauces. Chunky or very thick products can block the spout, so test with your recipe.
