What it is
A planetary mixer spins its beater in a circle around a fixed bowl, which is why it reaches everything in the bowl. With a whisk, flat beater or dough hook it whips cream, mixes batter and kneads light dough.
How it works
The beater head turns on its own axis and also orbits around the bowl, sweeping the whole surface. Speeds let you go gentle for folding and fast for whipping. Bowl capacity ranges from 5L to 80L, and full belt models use a belt drive for durability.
How to use it in the kitchen
- 1
Fit the bowl and the right attachment.
- 2
Add ingredients within the rated capacity.
- 3
Start at low speed and increase.
- 4
Stop and scrape down if needed, then remove the bowl.
